I love 3D modeling and its always been a cut of cloth between a hobby and professional work. I have used Lightwave, 3DS Max, and now almost exclusively use Modo as its modeler friendly, the renders look fantastic and I love the UI. Here's a few projects that I have done in my spare time between work and other projects. Check out my archive if you want to see my older work.

Brembo Big Brake Kit
Modeled, textured/surfaced, and rendered in Luxology Modo
I certainly have an affinity for cars and especially for the components that make them go, turn, steer, and for that matter stop. Back when I was autocrossing, I had a set of these on my car and I treated them quite poorly, and so I learned to properly brake on a set of these. So this a sort of paid homage for all those exceedingly better lap times.

It took about a three weeks cumalative of work from model to render (not counting rendering times) I'm very proud of this project as I learned alot about modeling and differences with surfacing between Modo and Lightwave and 3DS Max for that matter and accomplishing my goals.

KW Variant 3 Coilovers
Modeled, textured/surfaced, and rendered in Luxology Modo
These were the coilovers I really wanted for autocrossing, but settled for some Tien Flex's due to price constraints and needing a replacement setup. The idea behind this project was something I can model quick and rendered.

These coilovers were worked up in 3DS Max initially, I wasn't really happy with the rendering quality and so I reworked the model in Modo, essentially rebuilding it for optimization and rendered there. There is the rear suspension and a front suspension, both are similar, just the tabs are different.
